Hair Loss in Women: More Common than You May Have Thought
When you think of hair loss, the chances are good that men immediately come to mind. You may picture balding men you know or be reminded of a hair loss product commercial you saw on TV that discussed male pattern baldness. But did you know that hair loss in women is common? It is true as millions of women the world over have thinning hair.
Fortunately, hair loss in women does not usually result in complete baldness as is often the case with men. Hormonal imbalances, pregnancy and illness can all play a role so it is important to see your doctor if you are a woman who is losing hair at an alarming rate. Your doctor will make a diagnosis based on an exam and possibly blood tests. He or she may recommend a hair loss product you can buy over the counter or he/she may provide you with a tip or two regarding a home-remedy hair loss treatment regime you can use.
It is important to know that not every hair loss product on the market designed for women works. A good way to weed out the inferior hair loss treatment products is to read online reviews written by consumers who have tried many of the products you can find on store shelves. Trial and error is another way to determine which product is right for you, but be warned this method can be costly as women’s hair loss products are not cheap.
